Tom: Besides Buybiz.com, is there another resourceful website dedicated to the purchase of Magazine Publications for sale?

You might try Business Resale Network (http://www.br-network.com). They list all kinds of businesses. The thing to try to find out, especially if you are considering a magazine publishing business, is why are they selling. Also find out what they are selling - do you get a lot of valuable assets or headaches? A magazine that is slowly declining, even though it once was respected, may have irrevocably disappointed its subscribers. A reputation for not being dependable or reputable is hard to beat, even with a big "Under New Management" banner hung on the magazine's masthead.

Tom, thanks for the recent info. I thought perhaps buying out a decent magazine, might be the better way financially to go, then to either get a loan, or just deplete my savings. Your recent information, was most informative. thanks much.

Buying an existing magazine that is in good shape would definately be a good way to go. There are instances where someone has a good magazine, but either is ready to retire or is moving on with their life. Good luck with your venture and let me know how it goes.

Can anyone give me any innovative ideas for marketing and distribution a rebranded health magazine, particulary as it relates to use of focus groups. This magazine will have a cover price

Check out womenslifestylemagazine.com. They offer a syndication option that may work very well for you. The advantages over a "start-up" are clearly spelled out and the price is only $499 per month
