I am a recent college graduate and I have a friend who draws the most amazing images of women. One of his pieces got me thinking about starting a women's magazine, but I don't know where to begin. Are there any helpful books that you could recommend, especially for someone who has had no experience whatsoever in the business world?

The best place to start is back at your college. I know you just got out, but working on a school paper or magazine could give you invaluable practical experience. Other than that, try getting on as an intern at a magazine near you. As for books, I don't know of any that would cover your situation, but you should check out www.publishinghelp.com. It has lots of information for startup magazine publishers. And search for "magazine publishing" in About.com.
