Hi! What software is used to design and publish magazines? Do we use sw like quark for this? Do printers simply take the output files from this software and print the magazines?

Quark is very popular for magazines; so are the Adobe and Corel products. You can deliver your magazine to the printer in output files, but before you get too far into it talk to your printer to get their suggestions for the types of software to use as well as going over the physical specifications for the magazine. If you don't have a printer, include those points when you interview printers.
