I don't know that there is a specific font, but you want one that has serifs, like Times New Roman or Bookman, as opposed to a sans serif font like Helvetica or Arial. The important thing is that it is simple and easy to read. It is also hard to specify a size because a 10pt font in one face may be larger than a 10pt font in another. But I would think between 8 and 10 points would be the average size used.
